Installing and running the clocks

Everything that comes after the download: installing the file, removing it again, and working out why a screensaver is not starting. If you have not downloaded a clock yet, pick one in the collection.

Installing

Windows 7 or newer

  1. Run the downloaded <clock>_setup.exe.
  2. If Windows protected your PC appears, press More info, then Run anyway.
  3. Follow the installer to the end, it puts the screensaver where Windows looks for it.
  4. Open Screen Saver Settings: on Windows 10 and 11 through Settings, Personalization, Lock screen, Screen saver; on Windows 7 and 8 by right-clicking the desktop, choosing Personalize, then Screen Saver.
  5. Pick the clock in the Screen saver list, set Wait and press OK. Settings in the same window opens the options of the clock itself.

Removing

  1. Open Screen Saver Settings and choose a different screensaver, or (None).
  2. Open Settings, Apps, Installed apps on Windows 10 and 11, or Control Panel, Programs and Features on Windows 7 and 8.
  3. Find the clock by its name and press Uninstall.

When it does not start

Whether the machine is too slow or the install went wrong shows in how the screensaver behaves:

  • The clock appears but stutters. The install is fine and the machine is the limit. Turn off the glass effect in the screensaver settings, if the clock has one, and drop the screen resolution if that is not enough.
  • The clock is missing from the list. The file did not install. Run the installer once more and go through the steps above again.

Still stuck

Write to info@clockness.app. Name your Windows version, the clock you were installing, and what happened instead. That is usually enough to answer in one reply.
